What is the Dog Guard System?
It is a transmitter that conveys a radio signal to
thin wire, which is buried around your property. This wire then
transmits a signal to a small, lightweight receiver attached to the dog’s
collar. When the dog attempts to cross your set boundary, the wire
transmits a signal to the receiver on the collar. If the dog ignores
the boundary, he/she receives a mild correction.

Why should you choose us to help with your dog containment needs?
First and foremost we are
trainers! This is what sets us apart from other electric fence
companies. We see each dog as an individual, with different
motivations and drives. This information is important for us to
determine what might make your dog break his/her boundary. We then use
this information to customize your dog’s training.
.
Does the breed, size or gender of my dog matter when considering a
containment system?
No it does not. Again, it all relates to what motivates your dog, what may
cause them to break their boundaries, and their sensitivity to corrections.
The equipment that we use offers the widest range of correction in the
business, which also helps us to create a training program specific to your
dog.

At what age should I start training my dog to a containment system?
We will not start any training for an electric
containment system until a dog is at least 6 months. All dogs go through a fear imprint time period
between 4-6 months. This means that if your dog receives an electric
shock in this time period, it can possibly create behavioral problems in
your dog. Be wary of anyone that says they will start training earlier
than 6 months.

Will you
train my dog on a different containment system?
Yes we will! Again, our training is based on your dog's natural drives and instincts.
This approach can be used with any system.
