THERAPY DOG CLASS     This class will prepare you and your dog to become registered Delta Partners. It will cover such tasks as how to approach patients in wheelchairs and beds, how to recognize stress in your dog and in the patient and the importance of grooming. Special commands such as leave it, back up, look, and touch will be taught. Tricks will also be utilized.  Regulations regarding registered therapy dogs and medical terminology will be learned.  PURCHASE OF DELTA TRAINING MANUAL PRIOR TO CLASS IS MANDATORY.  Directions for ordering are below and on the back of the class schedule OR may be purchased from instructor while supplies last.    $165.00/6Classes

Taught by Sally Sizer – Sally is a multifaceted dog trainer with 30 years experience in obedience training, breeding and showing.  She is a member of APDT, President of Peaceful Paws, Inc. (an organization that advocates and promotes animal assisted therapy) a Delta Society Evaluator and Instructor, Certified TTouch Practitioner, CGC Instructor and Evaluator, and an instructor of pet assisted therapy. Sally is also a Reiki Master. Her life is dedicated to the care and well being of our animal friends which she does in a purely positive and compassionate way.

***Dogs that either already Schutzhund trained or are in the process of being Schutzhund trained are NOT eligible for the therapy dog class or Delta testing.

***Dogs must be a minimum of 1 year old to be tested.

 For Class Registration, Information & Class Policies

Dogs from the ages of six months old and older are welcome.  Children ages 10 years old and older are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult and must be able to control the dog.  Adults and seniors welcome too!  Dogs that are 1 year or older and their owners will be tested after the successful completion of this class.
